Turn the key on and no power!!

Guess its my turn to have the problem.
No power at all after turning the key. Checked the kill switch and the battery. Ok there!
Where should I start first?

Maybe fuse check?, Did that starter motor main cable near the cat eliminator short and blown main fuse? Ign switch? multi connector plugs corroded under the tank?

What did you last work on near electrics??

The battery!!!!
Any lights at all?
If yes, check your clutch switch, if not check the battery!
If yes, ignition switch, time fot the beaver!
If not you are screwed

Rode 150 miles yesterday with 4 stops. No problems. Went out today, turned the key, nothing. No power at all. Had to do some errands today so now I have time to work on finding the problem.
I will post more in a few hours.

Its the harness!! ****it !!
Lifted the tank, traced the wires from the key switch to a harness, turned the key on and moved the wires, POWER!!
Its obvious that I have to order the Beaver Kit but what do I do about the bad connection in the harness? **** thing is hard to get to.

Are you sure it's not the ignition switch? mine failed and when I wiggled the wires that ran down the left side of the tank it came back to life... This happened when I was out bush so had to tolerate it until I got back to civilisation 3000kms later!

It got progressively worse and I tried auto electricians and the like to no avail. Had to get the switch replaced in Brissy when I got home.

I could get it to start if I moved the bars rapidly hitting the stops as this jolted the bad connection in the switch, a wiggle of the wires under the switch would also get it to work...

Became dangerous when it cut out while riding, dumped me in a gravel carpark one time and cut out while overtaking...

Now all good with the switch replaced under warranty.

Its the harness. I can see where a white wire going in to the harness has turned brown. I tried it several different times with the key on just to find the one wire.
**** service guy at the dealer told me that the 09's didnt have that problem. I cant stand someone that will lie like that. I will be giving them a call.

Ordered the E. Beaver kit today.
I will be at M. V. regardless. If I have to drive my truck then I will make myself useful by cooking, talking, listening, making beer runs, etc.
