I am the guy that extracted the 020355.hex map for Roadster with TORS.
My friend Niklas will provide the tune.

although I usually post at our Swedish forum, r3owners.se, I did some posting at the .com forum. however I feel that there is more TuneECU action going on here than over there!

that said, I wonder how the 2 ignition tables that TuneECU has should be used compared to the 4 tables in Tuneedit.
why are there 2 tables missing?

a GIPro opens up the secondaries, which I now have done in a custom 20355 tune,
but the GIPro also removes the ignition timing retard in the lower gears.
something that can be done in Tuneedit by copying the ignition table for higher gears to lower gears.
however, as tables are missing, what would the result be if altering the lower ignition table in TuneECU, the same table for low and high gear, and retartadion in middle gears? not so good...

This topic could encompass a book... a big, thick one.

Yes, there are more ignition tables in TuneEdit than TuneECU, but do you need them? How detailed is your remapping? Are you after a graph of WOT output, or best output and response at all loads and engine speeds.

First you need to learn what each table does - in TuneEdit and TuneECU. Not all ignition tables do what many think they do. Pull a significant amount of ignition advance out of a specific table and test it in different gears, loads, and engine speeds. You will be able to see how and where each table changes output and transient response.

Do not be surprised to see Lambda/AFR change as a result of only making changes to ignition advance. This is an issue with the way Lambda sensors react to residual O2 in the exhaust. This is where an EGA pays for itself.

Look at what effect altering timing does in relation to the MAP and TPS tables and the switch points at different engine speeds.

The fuel used does play a part in the results.

I am not trying to keep anything a secret, but there is more to this topic than time and a forum will allow.

I was looking at this yesterday and noticed that the values displayed in TuneEdit (Tuneboy) for I3 and I4 are very similar, if not exactly the same, to the TuneECU values displayed in Ign(TP) and Ign(MAP). Maybe they are the direct equivalents.

yes that is correct, the numbers match. but the ign (MAP) in TuneECU is
RPM times Air Pressure (HPa) rather than throttle postion(%). I fail to see the same scale in Tuneedit or any mentioning of Air Pressure(HPa).

Power-Tripp, thank you for a quick and very advanced reply.
yes, this is not an easy topic.
if I may, back to one of my first assumptions. does not the GIPro when simulation 4th gear, make the ECU run the same ignition advance all the time, and should not this behavior be able to set if copying the ignition advance settings to be the same in all tables, using the table for the highest gear?

btw, I own and have paid for Tuneboy and its license, but since Wayne does not release any tunes for the Roadster I am stuck until further notice.
I have emailed him several times asking for a Roadster tune, with no reply.

I believe that the label on the scale is a developer mistake. Now that he knows about it, it will be corrected in the next version.

in that case he will rename the entrys as well to I3, I4 rather than ign(TP) and
ign(MAP).
MAP is manifold pressure I guess, meaning that Air Pressure (HPa) has relevance in a way.

Can you send me the "20335" for the TuneECU database?
