Nothing on earth like the TT . Watching it on video just doesn't do justice to the actual speeds those guys are moving at . Has to be witnessed in person to be believed ! Glad you had a good time , I have missed out the last couple of years . Were the purple helmets in action ?

Great article ..thanks for sharing. I was thinking how ironic it was for Nicky Hayden who cheated death all these years racing motorcycles and gets killed riding a bicycle...!!

hi nat67, no we didnt see the purple helmets this year lol, i have seen them over there on many occasions, (i even thought of getting a honda 50??)
we saw a good display by the armies royal signals "white helmets", which was good, but not funny like the purple helmets.
senior tt was stopped when ian hutchinson came off and broke his thigh bone. he was airlifted to hospital
it was restarted at 5.15pm but just 4 laps

yes a good week, at least the pubs were open lol

I've lost two mates to "The Island" - tough races.
They never really worked out why one died.
He apparently just went straight on where he should have leaned right.
Wasn't his first race there and on a 200cc Ducati he was not really THAT fast. Was just his time.
The other high-sided and head-butted a wall.
Destiny is all.

I envy you !
I spent some years driving the ramp lorry for my mates FMX show , every evening they would do a show on Douglas sea front during TT week . We were contracted by Jeff Duke of Duke video fame and were billeted at one of the purple helmets houses one year , we got to hang with them for the week and it was hilarious . I only wish I was clever enough to upload videos coz I'm sure they would give the guys here a good laugh ?
