You didn't see my signature?
Hi DEcosse so sorry, no i didnt but i have now, i would have brought one straightaway. the electrical stuff is way out of my understanding and just confuses the crap out of me. the wire that is conected to the battery is very complicated to follow back to the headlights so i had troubles there. message me price of kits, i can always sell the one i just brought. You helped me get the bike on the road in the first place mate.

my advice is NOT to keep changing things you can end up with more problems.
while i was watching one of your videos the lights were going on and off like there was a short.
assuming there is a short it would most likely be the main wire to main lights and park lights.
if it was mine i would remove bulbs and check wires with volt meter may be try pluging back in one at a time.
if you had a short the relay may be bad (starter relay or light relay).
some of the light kit had a system that you had to work the dimmer switch to get the lights on.
you can take a long wire put a fuse in to it and run it from the light ground to bat ground to see if the lights work and also do the same thing to pos to bat pos for test purposes.
if you unplug the lights do voltage test.

hi turbo200r4

thankyou i will give this a go, i have no clue dealing with electrical systems, but i am able to give your instructions a go. when looking through the manuel the relays confused me a bit.

Glad you are on the road Karl, enjoy your machine . Its pretty impressive how the blokes on this forum chip in and assist with their knowledge and experience.

Hi Clay

it is really impressive the "legends" on this site, all the information each one has shared will hopefully help others as i will also pass it on in the future. until i joined this site i was really doubting owning the r3 due to the lack of control i had in fixing it. now i feel the oppisite, there will be days thast i have to take it to the mechanics but at least i can go through it and decide that myself. I reckon the owners of the forum should make a pdf of all the responses to problems on the site and the proceeds can go to the upkeep of the forum. I am proud to be a member.
