This thread just demonstrates how this forum has become a world wide family who share concern for each other. The outpouring here is a refreshing wakeup that humanity is not dead. I have found similar threads quite moving ..... some might remember when everyone was concerned that @cootertwo had blown away (but he just cut his hair). Great to see the concern that is shared although many of us will never meet personally unless you come to OZ for a ride.
All I can ascertain so far is that the Rocket went down and collided with another bike , I rode thar same stretch a couple days before . There is a mile long straight ending in a swift s bend , the road is a scratchers heaven , I normally hit those bends at anything up to 80 mph . I recently mentioned here that from the end of the straight and onwards another mile or so , the surface had recently been dressed . In the heatwave we have been having the tar has melted under the chippings. I had a major oops moment on the very same corner the crash occurred. Jus speculating here , but the road surface could certainly have played a part !
