TPS WARRANTY Announcement

It was kinda a double edged sword finding this out guys.
On the one hand, I paid for the part so I wouldn't have to wait on Triumph to approve the replacment, and got it on its way.
It arrived and the dealer had me penciled in for first thing this morning.
Then I find out they won't put the part on but another new improved model is on its way, but it'll be another week of no riding.
That part sucks as its already been a couple of weeks.
The only good news is, this should be a non issue from now on,
and Triumph is gonna reimburse me and pay for everything,
just like on the output shaft bearing problem[/b].

It would be interesting to see if they have changed the shape on the back of the TPS, to make it seat more squarely, or whether its just sturdier somehow.

As soon as it gets here and gets installed,
I'll sure post pics if it looks different on the outside.
May be the same black box on the outside,
just different internals, don't know yet.
Either way, its keeping me down for another week.

Few months back when I replaced mine, I noted that the internals were blue and not black like the previous 3 I had replaced.

Not sure if that was the updated part or not.

I ordered one from the dealer 3 weeks ago to cure my idle problems and suddenly the symtoms owl had with his couldn't ride at a steady speed  I asked if triumph would cover it they said maybe if I took it to them  So I paid for it waited 3 weeks[it was on backorder] had them ship it to me installed it myself saturday and all is back to normal now 8) I got the T1245113 sensor also.

Arrgh! Mine was replaced a few months ago - guess I better check with my dealer and see if he knows what part he installed. Anyone have an idea about when the Part Numbers changed and/or if the change constitutes an engineering change? Or just a change in suppliers that Triumph wants to track seperately? :?

Don't know.
I do know the first one he (the tech) brought out this morning was the 003,
the one I already paid for.
I told him to go look again and get the 113,
He did and I got pics of them both.
Don't know how well they turned out, haven't downloaded them yet, but will as soon as I get done here.
I do know they look EXACTLY the same, front, back, top, and bottom, even the wires are the same color,
The only difference I could see was the different numbers stenciled on them.
Bike ran like crap at first.
I trailered it there, left it on the trailer for the tech to work on it,
trailered it home and unloaded it.
Rode it back to Tulsa to do another demo ride on the T-Bird.
Knew it wasn't fixed right off.
Idled up to 3000 and wouldn't come down unless I let the motor drag it down.
Pulled in the dealer and said it ain't right.
I won't go into what they told me was the problem because it has no bearing on things now.
rode it home still idling at 3000 and real P.O.ed...
Called Lonzol to talk and got to thinkin about it.
It sure didn't seem like it ran for 20 minutes after the tech adjusted the voltage...
I wonder....
Went outside, cranked Betty up and let her run.
8 minutes into it, my fan kicked on.
12 minutes later I shut her down.
Cranked her up and PURRED AT 800 rpm's.
Took her down the road and was way over the ton marker for awhile.
spun around, and flew home.
Pulled up in the driveway, and still holding idle at 800.
I am one happy Rocket Riding Renegade.
so the bottom line is,
I don't care how many triumph classes these techs go to,
They still screw up and miss simple stuff.
YOU GUYS, AND THIS FORUM, ROCK...
