Yes, I too have been lurking in the shadows. I have been coveting Rockets for 3 years now, but that is about to end. After pooring through this site and looking for weak links I just keep coming up with reasons to get one. It sounds like a fine bike for those of us over 20 stones!
Tomorrow I take the last ride on my '99 Tiger and tomorrow I will bring home the center piece for my garage.
Thanks to all for your tremendous insight, knowledge and certain level of BS ! I would probably still be coveting if I didn't gain the courage from reading the cool stuff on this site.
Ok Billz, you have done it now my friend, there is no turning back, the advertising says, Riding a R3 will always put a grin on your face, it will, it does, and for those with many a mile under their belt, they will remember every that with every ride, they still get that feeling, (not to be confused with "shipwreck island and the sheep")
3 years of waiting. Wow, how'd you ever hold out that long? Anyway, welcome to the site and at times the confusion.....but all in all one of the best forums I've been on anywhere.
You might want to send a PM to DANNO. He's a Lincoln Captain and great guy! (DANNO, you'll owe me a beer for that one)
As always, when you find time let us know a little about you and pictures of the R3.
You might also think about riding with us out of Kansas City to the RAA III in Eureka Springs, AR in September. If you need any information ..... send me a PM.
Hows my mate davo the Pianoman, I wanna get to the US as soon as "Mercy Bank" allows it and I would really like to catch up with you and some other big boys, yeh I am 6'5" and wringing wet go 370, so I can confirm the R3 is for the big guy.
I thought about us flying together in a 172 man which was what you are checked out on. Even at "Balls to the Wall", We would need the curvature of the Earth to get airborne!
Thanks for all the notes! I will post some pic's if I can figure that out this weekend.
Made it to about 2am but then rolled around after that!
I will be off to Baxter's later this morning after a quick little stop at the Credit Union.
I have wanted to toss my name in the hat for Eureka Springs but wanted to wait until I had the bike and settled things a bit a home !!! I have Yahoo map'd it more than once, would make a nice ride of about 500 miles.
Danno, if you have a grey Rocket I believe I have seen you @ Ace Hardward on 14th & Superior.
Welcome to the site billz. Lincoln NE brings to mind a vision of the Capital spire visible from miles away. What is that interstate that run E-W just to the north of the Capital city? I loved the pheasant and whitetail hunting along the eastern most extent of the Platt years ago. I bagged my share. For the longest time I was a Husker fan. I was a Plattsmouth and Bellevue resident for a combined decade of years. A location near Plattsmouth enabled many hugely successful goose hunts.
