Has anyone tried using the speedo/tach from a Thunderbird? Someone has a few of them on ebay for $100 each. I know they're the same size but, I'm not sure how we could make the electrical connections and if we could get all the other warning lights and fuel gauge to work.

IDK, on my touring, the speedo is built into the tank, so I can't change that. But I really hate the lack of a tach, the only company that seems to offer a handlebar one that will work is the Dakota digital mini tach, and I really don't like the look or the functionality at all. It's a digital display, and it leaves the last zero off, so 3500 rpm will read 350, etc, and I can't see how you could read a rapidly climbing digital readout, anyway.

Google "KOSO". They make MANY OEM spedos/tachos. i.e. MV Agusta.

They do a series of universal digital and analogue options. Most have polished stainless housings. And they do some BULLET housings too.
http://www.kosonorthamerica.com. I've been using one of their tacho's for a while recalibrated as a second GPS driven speedo. imo good price/performance ratio.

Hmm, I guess you would have to contact them, their information and English translations are both limited, I couldn't find any info on their site as to suitability for 3 cylinders.

AHA! The specs were an image, way too small to read, but I saved it, then opened in Paint, they do have analog tachs suitable for 3 cylinders, thanks.
