THIS MAY HAVE BEEN ALREADY COVERED SOMEWHERE, BUT.....

I never buy CITGO 'cause I ain't supporting Chavez.

There's a convenience store that sells petrol named "VALERO" in my neighborhood. Does anyone know if this is Venezualan as well as Citgo? The name sounds like it could be of South American origin.

Yea, what biker said. Valero started out as Diamond Shamrock and is one of the largest companies in Texas. It's a relatively good company and does use a lot of it's profit for charitable work in and around South Texas where it's primary headquarters are located. Lots of stores in San Antonio, Dallas area and constantly expanding.

Thanks, Wayne , you devious rascal...that was pretty detailed...maybe I'll try premium when it's really hot this summer and see if I notice any marked difference. Otherwise, I'll stick with simple 87. Fish

Actually he does mean detonation. I've never heard of pre-detonation before. What happens when the plugs fire is a controlled burn not an explosion unless of course you have detonation.

I humbly apologize. Here is an article that does a pretty good job explaining.
