T3880201 ALTERNATOR ROTOR BRACE

Can anyone tell me if you can remove the Alternator rotor without this tool. T3880201 Rotor Brace. ie. Can you lock it up by other means.

You could try jamming a rag between the main gear on the crank and the clutch basket gear, at the other end of the engine.. breaker bar and socket on the hexagonal piece on the nose of the crank.. I made up a homemade version of that tool though.

The rotor has 2 different size holes...i fit a socket (one is attached to a 1/2" breaker bar and the other is the longest fixed bar i have) inside each size hole. Then hold both bars parallel in one hand and use the rattle gun on the extractor.
