Ride
06 R3 Std
I ride an R3 std w Jardines, K&N's, PC3, Nev cams, GIPro and a super tune by Power Tripp. A few days ago I had the pleasure to demo ride the new Storm at RPM Cycle in Dallas. Wholey Crap! Was I surprised!!! We were warned to not do wheelies but it would try to skate the front wheel when the throttle was rolled on IN SECOND!!! True, it felt kinda like a bicycle after getting off the Rocket but the difference in weight made it comparable in the sensation of acceleration. I was impressed.

I presume you're talking T'Bird Storm. If they're going like that I might have to have another look. I do like the T'Bird 1600 and it's a very comfortable, great handling ride (although very little/no wind protection) but just seemed to lack that get up and go to excite. Can't see myself getting rid of the Rocket, but 'never' is a very long time...

My riding buddy just got one. He is liking it a lot.

Can he keep up with you?

I bought my Roadster because I couldn't keep up with my buddy on my Thunderbird. The Thunderbird is a great cruiser and I really liked the ride, only problem my best mate rides a Rocket and is no slouch. I was continually watching him disappear in the distance then when I did catch up he would be pulled over on the verge with a big smile on his face...??? :(

That is a pretty Thunderbird.
Test rode 2 Thunderbirds before I bought the wife her Rocket.
It was a nice little bike and far superior to a harley,
but just wasn't a Rocket.
I'd like to have one just as an extra bike.

And the 1700 is a wee bit bigger and faster.
