I also tried a Butt Buffer and it's OK for cool weather. In direct hot sunlight the gel will retain the heat for hours and roast your buns (painfully). The other disadvantage to the gel pads and Air Hawks is they raise your riding position 1/2" to 3/4" and that changes your position on the controls and pegs (or foot boards). It also makes the ground farther away at stops. On the Trophy at 31" to the stock seat adding 3/4" was a tippy-toe stop.
