I'm having some problems with my 2011 Roadster. I recently rebuilt my engine.
When I try to start her, I get no power to the starter trigger connector until the master power has been on for about 2 minutes. It's a consistent time period every time, and the bike fires right up afterwards. Any ideas would be appreciated!

WHEN YOU TURN KEY TO ON POSITION DOES THE COLORED LIGHTS LIGHT UP ON THE TACH AND THE SPEEDO. DOES the main head lights come on right away? and any thing that might help us.

The only thing I can think of for this symptom is a dead cell battery. It may be warming the battery up and temporarily fixing the problem. Try reloading a good tune properly (follow the instructions to the letter) because in may have been corrupted.

Do you use the kill switch to shut her down or just turn the key? maybe kill switch relay is sticking closed, not sure how it's wired or power impacts on it?

The battery cell kinda makes sense to me. I can't think of anything that would introduce a delay, especially 2 minutes. Can you get jumper cables on it and try it with either another battery or one of those booster thingys? That would at least eliminate a battery issue.

excellent suggestion. that 2 min delay is really odd.

I agree with Goth. but if you do not mind why did you have to rebiuld such a new motor? Were you spunking her up a bit?

It might not be exactly 2 minutes, but it's a fairly consistent time period. The trigger post on the starter doesn't recieve 12V from the start button until after that time period. So somewhere between the start button and the starter, there's an issue. Starter relay tested out fine.Battery is brand new. And it had the same symptom when I tried jump starting it using my buddy's truck before getting the new battery.

I had to rebuild it because I wrecked my baby last June. Broke the shifter portion of the crankcase and left a large hole where it once was. Worst day of my life.

I'll try reloading my map via TuneECU. Thank you for your suggestions!

And yes, Herman, the headlights come on, and the gages go through their sweeps and checks and what not.

Ah I remember you posting the pictures now. Glad your getting her up and running. This problem is a little one compared to what you just completed. I am confident you will get it worked out.
