WD40 is great for the hard to find squeak. if it does not stop the noise at least you have a can for lubing parts.

I love WD40 , use it on everything although the Mrs had a swipe at me when i sprayed her with it......... haha it reminds of this

ime of WD40 - its effects are short term - and definitely NOT suitable for heavy loads.
For a penetrative lube with more long lasting protection I would go for ACF-50.

But for bearings - GREASE or an oilbath.

Or a wooden rod placed on the ear.

Might zero down where the squeak is exactly coming from.
