I think I only found one topic on plugs,
is there any benifit to upgrading to a different plug?

think I will change mine while I have the bike gutted..

If you're going to mess with tuning and getting as much out of the motor as you can, I'd go one step cooler than stock.

Don't buy into marketing hype (like the split fire crap), just get a good Denso plug. I think the stock plugs are NGK DPR8EA9.

NGK is a good plug but I've had pretty good success with Denso Iridium on 4 wheels.

One step cooler in a Denso Iridium plug is part number IX22B($9-$10/plug).

Stock temp in Iridium is IX24B ($10/plug), they have a racing iridium version as well which is part number IXU01-24 but you'll pay $35-$55/plug for that one.

You can play with gap too...

BTW, stock NGK plug is something like $2/plug.

Also, I think the upgrade kit went to a DPR7EA9, so you could go with one step cooler than that if you wanted which is a DPR6EA9.

There is no Denso Iridium version in this range, just a plain Denso plug which is X20EPR-U9.

I'd stick with the DPR7EA9/IX22B

The Denso plugs?

Maybe, you'll get a better price online though.

a DPR7EA9

auto zone 2.09 a pop

so should I go with the stock gap? (.9mm)any reason to change it?

about to button the ole girl back up and await the paint to dry so to speak...

So you're gonna stick in the updated OEM plug? Not much of an upgrade...
