Gday Lorenzo.
Not sure if this is the answer to your question or not but this is the lead used to link the ECU to your laptop.
I suppose it's the same thing. When you said OBD it rung a bell, which is why I'm posting it.

VAG COM USB DIAGNOSTIC CABLE 409.1 OBD2 II LEAD VAG-COM

Can buy em off Ebay and other places, but sounds like he's already got one.

Cheers.

The Triumphs use what is basically an OBDII plug as used in all '96 and newer cars. The real experts on here (not me) say it is not fully OBDII compliant but that is what it is. You will find it wrapped around the back and left side of the battery with a plastic cover over the end. HTH

I found a shop close by that has a dyno jet. He modifies and tunes primarily HD, but has done a handful of ducati for the track. The guys seem pretty sharp though I'm not an expert. He's never tuned triumph.

What he's asking me is what type or brand of connector is used to interface the dyno with triumph ECM? He showed me an example on a bike he was tuning. This looked like an OBD plug on both ends with a box the size of a pack of smokes in the middle. Any ideas?

We tune with a DynoJet 250i and the best (fastest) way is to install a PC3 or PC5 which directly interface with DynoJet dyno. Otherwise, you will need TuneBoy or TuneECU to manipulate the tune in the Keihin (Triumph) ECU.

Gday Cobba and hey Triple trouble. Its not the plug ends being OBD II type, its the make of the PC box in the middle of it so His dyno jet can "pick the brain" of the triumph ECU. RWA, maybe this guy is familiar with PC3,PC5 because when I mentioned tuneboy and Tune ECU he was like, yea right. So any rocket on the dynojet needs something installed in her to interface if I'm getting it right? I wanted to make a move on intake and exhaust if a dyno was reasonably close. RWA your not are you?

Sorry, we are not close to you... East Coast racers with attitude.

If your nearby tuner has a DynoJet dyno, 99% of his tuning is probably done in conjunction with a PowerCommander PC3 or PC5. That is the "box" that is installed on the bike to enable the dyno computer to make fueling changes with the Triumph ECU. He should be intimately familiar with the simple USB cable connection that goes from dyno computer to PowerCommander "box". The PC (Power Commander) is installed on the bike, between stock ECU and your injectors. It enable fast & easy tuning on a DynoJet dyno.

Power Commander PC3 & PC5 do not really "pick the brain" of the Keihin (Triumph) ECU. That requires TuneBoy or Tune ECU, which use OBD2 cable to communicate.
