Living Legend
I think I speak for most of us who were there but we had a great weekend in Nashville.
I just got back home about 2:45 in the afternoon and had a good trip. Gas wasn't too expensive and only had to stop for gas twice after leaving Nashville.
We also have a new Rocket Captain from Crestview, Florida. His name is Joseph and he rode up with Dave McAulay (Scot in exile / SoccerRef) from Ft. Walton Beach, met me in Montgomery, AL on Friday and then we rode up to Rocky's house (HeR3tic) in Wilsonville for a great barbecue sandwich with fruit salad for lunch. We then headed on up to Nashville and arrived there around 3:30 pm. Joseph became a Rocket Captain by riding up on his Harley (he did good...but we weren't really riding all that fast) and while at the Triumph dealership in Hendersonville he rode a demo Rocket and after much consideration finally decided to trade in his Harley and take ownership of a Red Rocket demo bike (I think it was a 2006???).
Britman was already there when we showed up at the "Taliban 8. Soon after Flip arrived with his two Harley riding friends, these were real motorcyclists. They may have been riding but he is 71 and he has 135,000 miles on his Harley and she is 67 and has over 100,000 on hers (Flip...when you get home feel free to correct the mileage totals if needed).
Then Rusty, Raymond and the "mystery" guest showed up (known to us on the board as Dave...Pianoman).
HeR3tic was staying at the Hardy Inn (I think) on the other side of town and also brought his wife along.
Friday night we headed up over to the Hooters in Hendersonville (Henderson???) during which I soon found out I was a lot safer in Afghanistan than I was on the highways around Nashville at dusk.
After dinner at Hooters (a number of photos were taken, will post shortly) and we had a nice leisurely ride back to the hotel (HeR3tic got lost or couldn't find our location), Nashville has a nice skyline to watch at night and traffic was noticeably lower in volume.
Part two to follow...
Wish a lot more of you could have made it, it was great to match the names to faces.
