I have a car horn just like the picture MoMan posted and it works fine. It will fit nicely behind the cover with just a little bending of the mounting plate. Those come in different tones like F and D, so pick one that suits you ... I just went for the lowest of the tones on the shelf.

So is that THREE horns total? What are the other two?

Highway Blasters from Autozone:

The brackets are home made (even have a story for volume 2) and this was the first attempt. The second set shortened the drop by about 1.5".

What's the draw with three horns? Running a risk of smoking the horn circuit with too many amps.

Zippo!! I have an Eastern Beaver dual horn relay. I spliced the OEM horn wire to actuate the dual horn relay (horn button closes the relay and puts power to the OEM horn). So the original MeeP is still there, but the battery powers the dual horns directly.;)

You might want to mention that to guys interested in doing something similar so they don't have a China Syndrome situation. R3's don't have the most robust wiring and adding accessories willy-nilly is asking for trouble as you know.

You can buy a zillion horns and they'll all sound like a rooster with his neck in a strangle hold if you're using the stock wiring. To get the sound (even the stocker) where it belongs get an Eastern Beaver horn relay kit. You'll get all 12 volts if you aren't moving and just over 14 if you are (the ole charging system should be working), since it hooks the horn directly to the battery (the OEM button actuates the relay).

My 2 pennies. (and I have 2 horns + the OEM):eek::D:D

The above was my first offering on the topic. Does that clear it up?:confused:

One loud horn works for me.:D

Where'd ya get the Triumph emblem? I like that idea.

I have spent way too long figuring out where to mount this thing. I have a key-less ignition system mounted on my left side cover so that's out.

I also read where some have removed the horn portion from the compressor, how the heck is that done? I looked at doing it last night but whatever I tried just ended up feeling like it was going to be expensive.

Cheers
