SERVICE WRENCH AFTER BATTERY DISCONNECTED

Had this same issue last night !!! This is what I feared when buying a bike with all these computer controlled gadgets. Dealer delivered the bike with a crud covered battery, so I disconnected it and cleaned it up, then got the 🔧. Did some reading and reset the date/time, and it was still there. Then I saw this thread and checked again and the date/time was reset wrong; even though I swear it was correct on that first reset. And now it's gone. 🫤 I noted the dealer had set the service at 9k miles or July 2025. Already dreading the 🔧 coming back next yr, and not being able to set the next service interval to rid the 🔧

is tune ecu the only way to reset the 🔧 and other codes yourself ? Reading up on tune ecu and they say their license is basically a yearly lease now. Anyone know if that only applies to the tuning part? And how much is the license; didn't see the price readily available to see on their website
I'm using dealertool, so far working great a couple years now
 
you can also clear and update service dates using odblink and tune ecu, do fault finding, clear codes, bleed ABS and many other things. you can also record telemetry while you ride.
Argh......My 2022 GT is now showing "Service Overdue" wrench lite (I do my own service). I connected the OBDLink LX module, connected and openedTuneEcu and checked for trouble codes. No codes detected. I do have a year license.

Fiddled with the tuneEcu app and not able to find anything having to do with "Service Overdue" related codes.

Can somebody please tell me where to look in the app? Frustrated.

When you say "now showing" does that imply you'd been working on the bike & now it's showing the wrench when it's not actually due yet? If you were working on it, did you have the battery disconnected? If yes, then just go set your date (and time) again on the TFT display & the overdue light will turn off.
It comes on because the date reverts back to the start, which is ?? - years ago. That's why the ecu thinks the service is overdue, set the correct date & you'll be fine.

I did have the battery disconnect issue 6 months before, when changing the plugs. I knew about that and reset the date to fix.

I will go back into the date screen and check, but have no idea how it got changed...if it did revert back to some random date.

Hmm......It still leaves me with wondering about resetting with OBDLink/TuneECU..... previous posts seem to indicate you can reset with TuneECU. Maybe not?

To reset the service interval with TuneECU, if that's what you're referring to:
  1. Ensure you've set the time and date correctly in the bike's display.
  2. Connect TuneECU with the ignition on.
  3. From the "tables" page, swipe left to either the Dashboard or Adjustments page.
  4. From the menu in the upper-right corner (ECU?), select "Tests & Adjustments".
  5. From the "Test Devices" window, select "Adjustments" from the bottom-left corner.
  6. From the "Adjustments" window, select "Reset Service Interval" then select "Run" from the bottom-right corner.
  7. Select Km or Miles, set the desired updated service interval, then select "Validate" from the bottom-right corner.
There might be a step or two after that, but I didn't want to reset mine in the process.
 
Thanks Einar...... it worked!

Took me a couple hours because I tried doing this with my tablet. Could not get it to register the bike. I finely gave up on the tablet
and used my Android phone by loading the OBDLX and tuneECU apps. Connected, registered and executed without problem. Agrh
"Service Overdue" wrench is now gone for another 10k miles.

I have no idea why the tablet wouldn't work. Verified software versions, etc. etc. etc.

Nice, you've just reset the service indicator light, but when is the service actually due? It'll be before 10,000 more miles I'd say, unless you've also just done the service as well?

I've done all of the 20K service myself, except for the valve adjust. That'll take more work and expertise than I want to deal with. Probably have it done at a
vetted dealer in my area within the next year. I now have 25K on the bike, which is 5K beyond the valve adjust recommendation. I know....I know, but it still sounds tight
and doesn't get ridden that much with local rides only. I bought it with 24K on the clock and was babied by previous owner. I do love it.
