How 'bout those Thruxton stripes on the Rocket, just the tank and rear mud guard? A wee bit wider than is on the Thruxton, to Rocket scale, with "Rocket lll" across the tank stripes. Just sayin'.
You know, great minds and all that. I was thinking a blowing Union Jack on my fly screen, but since I've seen the cute little striped one... I think I want that one too. Black R3 with white Thruxton stripes. I'm diggin' it.
If I had to chose between those bikes, it would be the BMW.
Then I would send my Rocket to Germany for the Palatina RS conversion and back to New Jersey for the Carpenter Racing mods leaving the under seat exhaust. OOOOOOOOHHHHHH I'm drooling on the keyboard again.
I had a Series II Le Mans for a while, years ago. Bought it cheap as , someone had run it over a kerb and dinted both the mags. New mags were worth half the value of the bike . Against all the experts advice i had the mags rolled at Wilsons and just rode it hoping for the best . ha ha !!! Was a neat machine, great through a mountain range. Test rode a Griso up through the Black Spur on a visit to Melbourne not long ago , nice machine too.
The Rocket is my second bike...my first will always be my '99 Valkyrie. The Valkyrie draws attention everywhere I stop and is still the best bike for the money I've ever owned. I've had it now for 12 years (since new) and God willing I will always have it in the garage.
You can buy low mileage (10-15k miles) Valkyies for $7-8k...a steal in my opinion.
