running lights again

one of the captians said they had used the yellow parking light wire behind the headlight the yellow wire is on a 5 amp fuse and the lights call for a in line 15 amp fuse this makes me wonder if it is all right to run running lights off the yellow wire i installed the wallmart lights an would also like to put the lights on the ignition but i am not sure i want to use the yellow wire does anybody have any suggestions on which wire would work out or is the yellow wire allright thanks

Your best bet is to use a relay wired to the battery with at least a 10 amp fuse and use the smaller existing wire for the trigger wire on the relay. I use the low beam wire for the trigger wire so my running lights only come on low beam.
