2006 Classic, stock, ridden fast and laid low in the turns, but not abused.
But I heard rocks in a blender that I need advice on.
That is what the transmission sounded like last night.
64k miles with usual small issues, but going from 3rd to 4th, not running hard, it wouldn't shift and suddenly sounded like rocks in a blender.
Coasted to a safe place, and engine off, trying to push with clutch pulled in, it sounded horrible. Seriously, I cringed to hear the loud bangs trying to push the bike. Could not get into neutral. Trailered home.
Today, engine started with clutch in, and was able to find neutral, but it has a harsh noise from clutch, when clutch is released but not when pulled in, like an unlubricated metallic slide at engine speed.
Last night I thought the trans had just completely crapped out, but I'm thinking I may have an exploded clutch.
I won't do anything until next week, and I am interested to get you guys input.
Thanks in advance.
