I'm back on board a 2010 RIII Roadster and loving it :)......... got it last year. Previously had an 05 Rocket until 2008 when I traded it on a Kawasaki GTR14. The GTR was great but the Rocket caught my eye again with the Roadster's improved/added features, altered footpeg/riding position and twin exhausts. My Roadster currently has TORs, roadster screen, heated grips, tank pads and colour matched radiator shroud. I have panniers, rack, sissybar, gel passenger seat etc which I install for touring ....... recently got back from a 5000 klm 7 day ride to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. The bike performed beyond expectations even though it rained every day. The Roadster is definitely a more comfortable ride than the 05 for the longer trips IMHO. My only criticisms :( are the rear shocks when riding secondary backroads, the cheap looking switch box for the heated grips and not having all of the outrageous 'mumbo' available to me in the first three gears ......... gonna fix all that shortly :D.

Welcome back from Molino, FL and Afghanistan (but not much longer).

Welcomed you in the other thread already,
but Thought I'd drop in an give ya a proper "howdy" anyway..
Gonna put you a darkside on your Roadster,
for all that touring and wet riding???

thanks for the welcome

many thanks for the welcome ............ quite a few familiar 'faces' (user names) here.

BTW, after wading through all the posts I could find about shocks, I have now ordered a set of IKON 7610 1611 SP16 for the rear ........ primarily 'cause they're Aussie made not because I have concluded that they are better than Progressives. Of course I'll report back. I was also considering YSS.

Hey Canberra3 ......... how'd you go about derestricting 1-3. My local Triumph dealer says that there is a tune that keeps the secondaries open and they can do the tune, fit pod filters and run a dyno for $660. Is that good value? I must admit to be being not too confident  about fooling around with the ECU myself.

I'm not into playing with tunes - seems to create difficulties for SOME. I went a different route. I installed a GiPro (cost $160 on eBay) and removed the secondary butterflies completely (cost $0). I sure someone will come along and advise to go the tuning route. It a matter of personal preference - whether you want to plug and play or install and play with it.

If you also add filters and change the exhaust you will need to do something about your a/f ratio.
