Well this is embarrassing, but my 2005 RIII is in a storage space where I can't work on it (I got a warning for charging the battery and putting it back in) and the Check Engine light went on and stayed on when I started it up. Looking for possible reasons, I noticed a disconnected two conductor wire peeking out from below the fuel tank.
Any thoughts? I can probably get away with lifting the gas tank once, even if management drifts by I can say "Ooh, I thought that rule only applied to BATTERIES," but it'll go smoother if I know what I'm looking for.
I think it's too much to hope there's a connection between that connector and the light, but who knows, and I'm hoping for the best. The bike only has 10k miles on it, and from what I read on this forum it'll probably go off when I ride it for a bit...but it hasn't been registered for 17 years and has no plate, so goin' cruisin' may be a challenge.
