Can you use the Rivco extenders with the standard pegs? Their footboards ain't cheap and don't fit my image :wink:

Short reply, no. Last I checked, for reasons I can't grasp Rivco sells the extenders separately, but the only way you can use them is to buy the floorboards which come with the spacers needed to use the extenders! By now the spacers may be available separately at extra cost. After buying extenders and spacers if memory serves you'll then have to drill out the hole in the extender to fit the diameter of the stock peg because for reasons I again can't grasp Rivco doesn't use the same size threads for the floorboard mounts that the stock peg has. After having done all that you'll then have to cut some of the length off the peg's stud because it is then too long to clear the chrome cover.

I have a set of the extenders (unused) around here somewhere...

It's a shame someone hasn't come up with more solutions to this problem as even a 5'4" passenger complains of the pegs being too close. It can also be very hard to avoid the dreaded boot melt with the exhaust so close behind the pegs.

The good news is, if you do buy the whole Rivco setup the people here rave about the quality of what they sell.

Try putting Highway hawks passenger boards on backwards - laughing eventually subsides and Ill explain. I took mine off me Yam Dragstar Classic and drilled out the holes to take the larger pins from the roc. As the boards are angled at the pin the wife complained the angles weren't right and comfortable. After mucho freakin about I threw em on backwards for a laugh and she loved it. It moves the possible foot positions forward only about 1 inch or so, and being boards allows the missus to vary foot position too which all helps. Here is a pic of the boards on THE RIGHT WAY AROUND


As you can see the effect of the boards would be to move the foot back, presuming the instep goes on the footpeg normally so turning em over does make a difference. Hope that makes some sense?

Put the rivco boards on my rocket and my wife loves them. therefore so do I.

I built these for my wife. It moves the foot position out about 2" and forward about 4". She loves them!
