I know how difficult it can be to get a group going and keep it going. I see how difficult a well orgnaized HOG effort can be and without some solid backing by the manufacture it is almost impossible.

I may ping one of the international Triumph people on this.

IDK, our local one died out, my dealer is willing to support it, but the guy running it (well) for a couple years retired from it, and the next guy didn't do much. I'm thinking of volunteering to try to resurrect it.

I know what you mean. In November of 2013 I was asked by the Charter Members steering committee to become the President of our local RAT pack. We call it BRAT because we are close to Boise. With over 150 members it is hard to get 6 or more folks to turn out anymore. We do a 2nd Saturday breakfast and short ride (75 to 100 miles) and then we do a 4th Saturday all day ride (200 to 400 miles). There are 4 of us who always turn out. Then we get the accessional random members who show up.

I happen to be in Atlanta this week where, interestingly, the US headquarters for Triumph resides. I am going to try to talk to one of their representatives on the topic.

Talked to corporate, no, they have no US support (outside of dealers) for RAT. Tried to get in touch with someone international on the topic, have not received a call back.

Too bad, they dont seem to be very interested in something that could be really lucrative for them.

Hahaha, good f'ing luck. Its like the Emerald City and the Wizard sees no one. Triumph does not care about anyone right after you ride off the lot when you purchase. If it doesn't glorify them, you gonna get a cold shoulder.

Well, it seems you were dead on. Never received a call back. So it is pretty obvious that they are not overly interested in that part of their "marketing".

Really too bad, as you cant really fault Harley for using the one thing that keeps people engaged and coming back, which is HOG. It is the main reason I have hept my Harley to be quite honest. And I fully understand what HOG is about, it is one of the biggest cash cows ever created. A self perpetuating marketing venture that provides both community and an everpresent hook into the dealership. Especially when you consider that most of the used Harley's being sold have less than 10,000 miles on the (actualy most being aroun 6,000).

Such a lost revenue stream for Triumph.

I've had the ear of corporate three times while helping then conduct demo rides with their big truck load of every Triumph they were making................until the truck loaded up and pulled out. Thanks for your help dipstick, here's a bobble for spending a day helping us sell bikes. Never more. Apparently they only cater to their boyfriends. Yeah, I'm callin them out, sissy boys all. P O S E R S.

I know, tell us what you really think Josey. They ain't about motorcycle enthusiasts that work for a living. They like their peissy little catalog model types. Sorry I wasn't pretty enough Triumph...........uh, no I'm not. Wisdom comes with age. Ride a Vision, me and Sonny Barger do and we ain't neither one too danged pretty but we RIDE and We Are Real People.
