I recently posted about some issues i had getting state inspection done with the Jars fitted.. Though that issue is solved now, I would still like to know if there is a permanent way to quieten the exhaust a bit as it's still a bit loud for my taste.

Of course i can wear ear plugs, but that's beside the point. I don't want to open up the whole exhaust and repack the baffles, plus my Jars are fairly new so existing baffles are in good shape.

Thanks!

Have a look at this previous post of mine.
Part number VT30-0618

Thanks Steve, that's very interesting.I would guess the same part would be available here in the US as well. From your post it seems like I'll have to pop the rivets in the Jars to fit these in?

Did you get a chance to measure the decibel levels before and after? My Jars are currently around 115db measured from 2 feet away from the exhaust tip. Also was there any impact on performance? Thanks again.

I think you can get these in the US as they are made to fit Harleys, just Google the part number, you need to drill out one of the pop rivets on each pipe and drill all the way through the baffle end piece, then fit tubes with a bolt about 2" long from the outside, I have no way of measuring decibels but my ears say they are quieter, my PC3 has been set up on a dyno without the extra tubes and they don't seem to effect the performance.

I found those torque tubes (baffles) on the Phat Performance Parts dot com site. A set was only $18.95. They are listed as : V-Twin 2 1/4" Torque Tube Set-plain (no holes in tube) Product code VT-30-0618. They are located in So. California. They also have the same with perforations, +$.

Daman- I ordered them on line yesterday. They are on back order. Should be sent out to me within the next couple of weeks. As soon as I get and install them I'll get back with you, ok? And thanks to SteveS for the original thread and info.
