Question about Noise while releasing clutch

I feel pretty confident it will be very similar to the process on my '11 Roadster. This is a good tutorial...
Yeah I found that video last night now I just need to learn how to properly de-stake and the stake that nut. I'll likely wad a bunch of rags around the area to prevent damage if the chisel slips. There are a couple of minor dings in there already either from the factory installation or when the dealer got in there.
 
The shop I called said that the rocket clutch is basically backwards from a normal clutch and yes one has to remove it to replace the plates.
Also the center nut is 30mm, not 22 as it claims.
What is the suggested clutch service interval? I'm almost thinking to just deal with that occasional noise until I really need to do this. I have 14k miles on it now.
Then again I've gotten this far so I might as well.

I don't know why, but I just watched that whole video. I was hoping he'd say what the clutch pull difference was between the OEM and heavy clutch springs
When I had the Roadster I replaced the clutch with a Barnett kit (not available for the 2.5s). The heavy springs made the lever a little stiffer, but not an issue at all.

Too bad we can't find out if changing that outer plate was a lasting fix and if removing the clutch basket was necessary
 
From what I've seen in the service manual it seems you only need to remove the basket if you want to make it easier to line up the pressure plate tab with the machined cutout in the basket.

The manual shows you having to install the basket by its self then placing the clutch plate assembly into it, so you wouldn't be installing the basket and plates as a whole anyway.

The only difference if you didn't remove the basket is you would have to align the pressure plate tab while trying to hold the clutch plate assembly up at the bike which shouldn't be too difficult I don't think.
