Do you have a Photobucket account ? Can you access it from your Ipad ? If so you should be able to go to the pic you want. Click on the little gear up in the right hand corner of the pic. Click on copy, and it will ask you to select an album, pic one, then click copy down in the lower right hand corner of the box.

If you are in the Safari browser, the menu will be text buttons. The "Save Image" option should be towards the bottom, just above "Copy".
If you are in the Facebook app, you will need to first tap the photo so that it will show in full screen and then hold your finger down on the photo to get the pop up menu. The menu will be text buttons. Choose "Save Photo" and if prompted to allow Facebook to access your Photos, say Yes/OK.

That didn't work either. I finally got it though. To the right of the photo there is "media options" click download then you get save image.
