Possible map change??

Hanso,
Good to hear from you. Checked all my clamps and stuff and everything is rock solid, there must be something simple causing this high idle thing.

Come on guys, think, think, think.

The itchy and snatchy show

I had similar problem after I added fuel to the PCv base map.. RPM was slow to return to idle I had to go to zero from 0 - 1000 rpm and 5 at 2000 RPM.. I presumed it was over fueling at Idle I also reloaded the ECU map at the same time.. I have since changed maps and setting so cant say this was the sure fix..

Check your throttle stop at the front of No1 TB ..behind the coolant tank, I once had an wire in between stopping the throttle closing.

After much reading about the F-L switch table I finally cracked it.
All the very slow to get down to normal idle speed was purely down to the F-L switch table.
I forget exactly where I read the info from Wayne at Power Tripp, think it was on Triumph Rat forum, but he and another explained very well what I initially expected. I'm no expert, but on the tune the fuelling is pretty high and where the F-L switch takes place on the first map I tried from about 1900 rpm to about 3800 rpm, is at position 22-31. Now, I followed Waynes suggestion to reduce the crossover point if you like to position 3 in the 4 fields from 1910 rpm to 3700 rpm. It worked a treat!
The bike runs as smooth as a hot knife through butter, seriously, it's now a delight to drive. There's no snatchiness down low, feels just rich enough, is wonderfully smooth, the decel popping has gone and instead, there is a beautiful low rumbling gurgle, it's just amazing! I had now found new love for the beast. I new there was a fix for my problem. Maybe those original F-L setting were to compensate for O2 sensor adjustments, not sure. All I can say is it might work for you!
Thanks, Wayne, from Power Tripp, you are a god!

Hi 1olbull, yes, I do set the TPS as a matter of course. I doubt if it's really that important every time, but better to make sure i suppose. Cheers.

**** I hadn't read your last post before I posted.
Sorry - "I feel so vulnerable . . ."

You be fast as within a minute I went and deleted it. While deleting, you had already responded. :)

Since I'm already exposed as dil, what's an F-L setting?

awesome!!! that reminds me of one of my early conversations with wayne where explained about nlowering the F-L point to me to fix a problem I just automaticly adjust that straight away nowa days or it is usally already done as the only tunes I use are PowerTripp tunes

I do it every time I connect it does not hurt and you know it is all sweet

we all start out Vulnerable till we start to understand it all and it does not take a rocket scienetist to work it out

TuneECU F-L Table question... - EFI & Tunes/Mappings - Tech Forums - Messageboard - Triumph Torque

I could put it in my own words for you, but I think it's much better if you have a read of this very good thread about it instead.

It's basically the crossover point from using the L tables (MAP) to the F tables (TPS) in percentage terms I believe.

I hope it's useful for you as it was for me. Good luck man.
those how to manuals are well written

Just noticed what you were saying, when we were discussing adding fuel in the PCV 0% column in the fuel table it was only from 1500 rpm onwards that we added fuel you can add anywhere from 10 to 20 depending on how much poping you need to get rid off, below 1500 rpm you start messing with the idlling zone which could cause hunting or surging due to the excessive fueling, I hope this help clears that for you Dennis

Thanks Hans yep figured it out I have low numbers less than under 10.. I also found a differentTORs map and changed it to try also imported the trims into it runs fine..

Hans are you leaving the AT sensor enabled indefinatly or are you disabeling it at some point when you are happy with the trims ??

Just curious :D

You better now ? that flu is a duzzy put Saori to bed for a few days, I didn't get it so bad.. are you back amongst the living yet ?
