Please someone talk me out of this

Never owned a Guzzi.A mate of mine has had one for years the only problem for him was the electrics in the wet.

Won't try to talk you out of it Britman. The only Moto Guzzi I rode was in Itally back in the 80s, an V7. I loved it then. I remember it had lots of usable thrust coming out of the corners in the mountains and as a young sailor (who was forbidden to rent two-wheels by the Navy) it was much appreciated psycho-therapy. I have one friend in San diego who has a '14 Califonia and can't stop talking about it being the best bike in the world. It is his 3rd ride after a 883 and 1200 thus he hasn't a lot to go on. Still, I won't discount his opinion due to the fact he rides year round now as before he was just a weekender.

And I can pretty much tell you which bits. CEV switchgear and 2 specific Magnetti Marelli relays. And depending on model - 2 cutout switches.

Compared to a Triumph of the same age as mine - a Guzzi is a paragon of fault free operation. Same day I bought my first Guzzi (850-T3) a mate bought a new T140.
It put me off Triumphs for a long long time.

Thanks one and all for the input, it has been helpful. I have changed employment lately and gone back to full time work at age 66. I am employed by a small family owned automotive paint supplier as a driver, warehouse-man, and paint mixer. I really enjoy the work other than the fact I won't be seeing any vacation time for quite a while. With a birthday coming up this month the Wife has said "Go ahead and buy the **** thing if you want it, it will be your birthday present and vacation combined." So I have permission to bring this "Ugly Child" home to live with her British siblings if I choose, along with keeping peace on the home front. (I am sure the Brit girls will be happy, it will make them look a hell of a lot prettier.) I will know in the morning when I sit on it and go for a test drive. There is also the fact the Wife's car is a Fiat Abarth, I just hope the Goose and that don't breed if brought home. What kind of mutant Italian be love child would be the product of those two. Will post what happens, have a great weekend all........

Something close to a Laverda Shifty.

Reactions: idk
Everyone on here has a passion for ugly as we all ride Rockets, go for it George and I would not be worried about the Fiat humping the Guzzi just imagine what would happen if the Rocket humped the Guzzi
Yeah true to each his own and i have to admit i liked that all black Guzzi they released the Californian i think it was called.

Last time something called out to me I ended up making mortgage payments, car payments, insurance payments, and paid for two college educations. Now I'm working on college funds for the grand kids.....so go for it!!!!!
