Was looking at an 05 with 14K on the clock. It has a peck in the top end of the motor. Havent gotten much farther than that at the moment. Was hoping to get a little feed back on what the possibilitiesof this cause could be. Well be going back friday for a closer look. Any help woud be appreaciated.

was thinking it could just need a valve adjustment.

a peck?

Like a wood pecker?

You could either being hearing normal valve train noise or you could be hearing the paint can rattle.

If it's paint can, there is a Triumph upgrade kit and there have been several cases that they have paid for even on bikes out of warranty.

Or you could take it to the dealer for a diagnostic. If you get a bad report it's worth the money to NOT buy someone else's headache. If it's like Juggs said, no harm or foul.

It may also be a leak in the manifold or collector...... especially if it has after market pipes. I have a slight leak around the collector w/ my Jardines and it sound like it is on the top of the engine. It is a pecking noise just like you described.

OK thanks guys. I go in the morning to give it another look over and see about buying it. Will let you know when i get back.
