I think a few have missed the paint off swinging arm, keep us informed mate..

I agree with the road tar theory, have you tried to clean it off with methylation spirits or mineral turpentine dabbed on a rag ? As for the paint missing from the exhaust that will most probably be something you will just have to live with

Bikes currently at the dealers having service but they agreed it looks like the particles are from the exhaust.

i have kept an eye out on mine and i haven't seen this happening yet

They blamed the marks on the chrome on tarnish from salt on the road (in April!) but it looks like this is a Triumph “thing” as other models with similar finishes are also suffering from the same. ACF 50 treatment seems the only cure / prevention. At the time of the dealer closing for lockdown they had not received an answer from Triumph on the exhaust markings but they cleaned them off at the first service.
I will be taking it up with them once they re-open.

My GT has close to 8k miles on it and none of that is showing up on it. Hope they get you taken care of.
