I was changing my oil and noticed cracking on my Avon cobra up front. It's less than a year old and less than 6K. Here's some pics, is my Avon still good? You can barely see it here in the pics but it's cracking inside between the floors and walls of the tread.

I'm no tire specialist but I always thought little cracking like this was the result of the torsions the tire had and is completely normal.

Ride harder, wear it out quicker & change tyre more often.. problems solved
Seriously though GMan is right on with the pressures, I noticed a huge improvement in frount end handling going up from 38 to 42 psi ( frount tyre). Always had the rear at 40-42, but didnt expect such a diff with just 3 or 4 more pounds in the frount , until I road it

I run 41 in thr front, if these cracks are normal then I won't worry, anybody else want to look at their tires and elaborate

+1 on that. the minute cracks are normal. After a while the ozone will attack the rubber and you'll get minute cracks in the sidewalls too. Little ones (like a hair) are ok. If you get bigger ones, time to replace the tire unless you are a farmer like me. When I get big cracks in a sidewall I put in a tube and keep on trucking.

Sounds like a good idea, I used to be a farmer too
