ok, heres the deal.
I want a digital oil temp sensor and the same for the water.
Now the water temp I figure I can tie in under the radiator.
Any ideas where I could tie into the oil for a accurate running temp?
and has anybody done this mod?
I "think" the right place to tie in would be the back side of the oil tank kinda towards the top, as this appears to be the return line.
Is this correct?
I realize I could get the digital filler cap, but thats just to inconvenient,
I want to be able to know the running temp while riding.
Has anybody put a oil cooler on?

I'm also thinking of doing such mod- It'd be good to know what temperature are you running in. I reckon that it's not a difficult thing- coolant temp can be read via Triumph service computer.

Re: Oil temperature gauge

As for the oil temperature, if you don't mind a read-out from the oil tank, you can buy a combination temp gauge/dip stick from newr3.com...

http://www.newr3.com/html/oil_temp_gauge.html

...which will set you back $55.69 (for the analog model) + shipping and handling, or you can spend upward of $150 for a digital model. Newr3.com is the only source I've found that sells the analog model, and they are sold out until September 2009.

yea I realize they're available, or currently on back order I guess,
but can you imagine trying to look down at it while riding?
Maybe you'd have no problem, but either I ride to fast to take my eyes off the road for that long,
or I just ain't that coordinated.
Thats why I want something I can mount up around the tach and speed-o.
simply glance at it and eyes back on road quick.
thanks for the input.
