Ok just a question here
How much work would be involved putting a fatter MT on the back of a rocket?
I know the guys on the M109r are able to put a 250 and a 260 back there on the stock rim instead of the 240 but need to go to a 10" for the 280 and then its swing arm ect ect for the 300
has anyone else here gone fatter without using a darkside tire?
any info appreciated

Also mags/rims after market that will fit without mods to swing arm ect that may house fatter tire pref chrome?

a great question...

what are our fatter arse options... both swing arm and non new swing arm options?

pics and links appreciated

Mitch you are limited by the rim size not many wide 16 inch tires out there. I imagine you could get a 260 on it if you had the right rim. 250 definetly. I could probably squeeze one on my 18 inch rim its 8.5 wide I believe. I suppose I should have seen how wide I could go when I had the rimm modified. but I was more interested in a larger variety of 240 available. I almost wnet 17 inch so I could try the 245 Daiblo made for the new ducati but it was not available at the time I did the modification.

Thanks Warp
So could i put a 18 inch x 8.5 on the back without modding anything else on the bike ?
or wider or is 8.5 the max for our swing arm shaft setup?
I dont mind changing size if i can get a fatter arse end without major surgery even if i need to change the front to suit as long as it isnt dangerous for the rocket to do so.

Yes 8.5 would fit but the only rims you can buy are the BST carbon fiber rims. I am not sure what their width is but they are 18 inch though. Mine is a 18 inch modified OEM rim I had the rings cut off and doner ones spun welded on and then machined. It cost me 750 bucks but I like being able to run different rubber. I tried the conti race attack and it grips like glue but also is a soft compound so mileage suffers. Right no I have a shinko on he only V rated but so far it has held up well. I do not do a lot of burn outs but spend time on the right side of the speedo. Simce I just put her back together I have not run her all the way up. just 162 mph in 4th gear . The shinko tracks well with just dyna beads in her for balancing.

I ran a 250 cobra it only just cleared swingarm on driveshaft side,
on driveshaft tube there is some room to be pinched with a little cut & weld where tyre would touch if you wanted to go bigger still.
You can also shim the gear off the hub & reduce the caliper mounting bracket side by same amount I have done this, with C/F wheels & 6pot brakes/one off bracket, wheel will be off centre to the bike though.

Did you have to do that to get the 250 cobra on or did she just fit in there ?
