Noco a good alternative to yuasa?

Meltdowns happen in batteries and humans. Go with antigravity, braille like almost every race team, theyre are no race bikes using lead acid batteries. Go with the pros. The anti gravity 5lb battery has been abused 2 winters, shut itself down last winter, took a week in garage until it accepted charge again. Been in 0 degrees attached to charger and did fine, as long as it stayed charging heat was good. The computer on these batteries does its job, you cant kill it, it cuts off at certain voltage and stabilizes itself for hiw long dont know but for months yes, but computer will see zero but multimeter shows 11.6 i think. 7 years now and has never not cranked because of battery, this is what 900cca looks like. They dont sell mine anymore, theyre like 720cca. Anyway best 500 i spent, they are 200 cheaper now.

Updated. I rode today at 10C, started up like a champ. No issues with the NoCo battery. Didn't explode or anything. In other news, ICE car caught fire today, so I guess we should all start looking at pedal bikes for our two wheeled adventures. Ah sh!t, my balls chaff and I already bought all this gear. Nah, I'll risk it for another few seasons. I went outside to see if the earth was still flat too, I don't see any curves, so it must be. Reminds me, I need to get some more tin foil for my sleeping compartment. It's the end of the month, so you know the government gamma rays will be turned up extra for the next few days...

Stick to Lead Acid Yuasa or any other brand you can find, but stick to Lead acid.

and you want to sit on a lithium ion battery?

It's not a Lithium Ion battery.

The current gen Tigers all come with LiFePO4 batteries, and they aren't burning to the ground. Because it's a different technology.

That’s what I switched over to last summer. No problems at all over the winter using all my heated gear, dashcams and anything else that draws current. Works like a champ. I did have to buy a different trickle charger but that was about $30.

First, I'll reiterate what Gimlet said, as it needs repeating: Motorcycle lithium batteries are NOT the chemistry that can cause runaway fires!!! They are LifePo4, which are VERY stable. I throw that out there again, as this sort of mis-information causes a lot of issues with apartments, HOAs etc. Not just with motorcycle batteries, but e-bikes, boats, RVs and electric vehicles with LifePo4.

Second, I'd be concerned with the 4ah total capacity. Yeah, that's really 8ah lead acid equivalent, but it's still rather low (stock is 18ah). If it starts, that's great, but you've got next to zero reserve capacity for such a huge engine. If it doesn't start right away, I'd expect very few second tries.

I ALWASY put LifePo4 into all my bikes. I have over 10 years doing this in more than half a dozen bikes. I stick with Anti-Gravity, but I'm sure there are other good brands. At this point I haven't made the switch on my GT, only because there is not a Lithium that fits in our odd size battery compartment that has anywhere close to the stock capacity.

I'd love more feedback long-term as to how well this super small capacity battery does.

The NoCo NLP14 with the correct spacers fits perfectly in my 2020 Rocket 3 GT. The spacers are included with the battery as purchased (they are not sold separately). Here is the manufacturers link NOCO - 500A Lithium Powersport Battery - NLP14

It's not that it doesn't fit, it's that it is less than half (actually a quarter) of the capacity of the stock battery. In fact, it is the same capacity as the tiny battery I have in my track bike that runs nothing but the ignition circuit, and the manufacturer was even hesitant to recommend that battery even for that application. I hope it works for you, but I have a feeling that long term, it's going to leave you stranded. It just does not have the reserve capacity for our huge engine.

I'm not taking any chances with any kind of lithium batteries. I'll stick with Yuasa AGM.
