I feel that its a person right to wear one or not. I chose to wear one but its my choice. The same with seatbelts I always put one on but its my choice it should not be the states choice. Our fore fathers would be distraught to see what we have become. Our rights are always in jeapordy it scares the hell out of me. In Ohio a cop can judge your speed and if he or she believes your speeding they can issue you ticket and you have to pay.

I don't believe I've ever seen any rider on a KLR without at least a good quality 3/4 lid and most wear full buckets. Must be that ADV image.....:D

Its the image, I have seen sport bikers wearing beanies and it looks ridiculous.

I usually wear a full face but I am going to get a beanie for short trips to the store on my Rocket (will not wear a beanie riding the KLR....). Beanies are easier to put on and take off if you wear glasses and they easily fit in saddlebags, but I have no illusions that they offer any significant protection.

Hell, in the MINI I wear a four point shoulder harness. The last accident I was in the shoulder belt tore my left shoulder up, I don't trust the factory belts anymore.
The bike is another story, I wouldn't wear a helmet at all if the weather would be perfect everytime. The full face only gets used in the rain and the cold. The beanie is to satisfy the Maryland helmet law since about every thing seems to go through Maryland to get there. When I rode like a maniac I wore helmets everytime ... I suppose if I started sport riding the R3 I'd go back to wearing leathers and the helmet. But now, especially with the center stand, it drags pulling into the drive.

baadactor, you should of seen it 20 years ago but a vary smart woman fell in love with me seen the good person I was never noticed my spelling.
20 years ago I wouldn't of been year even trying to talk to you guys on this Form at least I'm trying:D for the love of my Rocket and share and learn off ones that like the same think, I hope my spelling doesn't get in the way?

My bad, spelling is one of my pet peeves. I should know better, as seldom do I manage perfect posts as I would like to. To me it's about the communication. It's raining here again, hence my being online.

I do wear a helmet about 95 percent of the time, but it's a shorty and loud as the wind whistles past my ears. What are the favorites here for fully enclosed jobber?

Cane could fix his problem with a spell checker. Too bad grammar checkers aren't as common. You know, something that would point out that you've just ended a sentence with a preposition.

Some may argue the practice is in some cases acceptable. However, it is something up with which we shall not put.

Just kidding, of course. :D

I have spell check on my emailing but it does not work when I'm on this site?
I do enjoy talking to you guys and most likely I would talk more but because of my spelling and grammer I don't, I have come a long way form my chiled hood and got in a lot of fight because of it and became vary vilolent, and married a vary nice smart woman that has shownen me the right path and I became a good stable person:) but at the same time I need to feel Comfortable:cool: If not I will not talk I like the person I am now and so does my wife, I think its great and that I was vary lucky that my wife seen the good in me:) Being on this site and talking has helped my spelling get better and I'm sure it will get better as the years go buy . And those I had a privilege to go riding with I really enjoyed it and would love to meet more of you guys:)
