I installed the Triumph pillion bag on the cargo rack on my GT. One of the first things my wife insisted I verify is that it actually can hold a bottle of wine :)

rolled the dice on a triumph tiger tail bag for the rocket. Genuinely impressed how well it works and looks. Granted, it’s a big bag. Mainly for touring purposes. I don’t keep it on 24/7. But, it’s 45L, center compartment is a dry bag, and works great on the OEM rack. Part number is A9510315 for anyone interested. Mounted with the straps it comes with. Also, doesn’t have any Tiger logos or mentions on the bag. Just Triumph.

Well, took it up and down coastal Maine in both sunshine and rain, and the bag worked out great! Stayed put the whole time and kept everything dry.

Can you fit a full face helmet in the Tiger Tail bag?
Yes. You can fit 2 full face helmets via the side access parts. You won’t have much room for anything else, but 2 helmets will fit. I have a Simpson ghost bandit which is a decent size, and my wife’s biltwell gringo s both fit.

I spoke to a Triumph guy about the weight issue on the rack and he said (off the record!) that it was a stability issue that led the weight restriction (and also the fear of a law suit!) If you look at the manual Triumph give a weight limit of 5kg for a pillion mounted bag and I have yet to see a 5kg pillion passenger on a motorcycle! ;) The final comment the Triumph guy said was to make sure the rack bag was securely and tightly strapped to the sissybar, this will help spread the weight.
What is 5kg in lbs my son with disabilities is 6'8 300 lbs

I bought a Saddlemen BR1800 tactical for my R. It’s a good size for the rack and has a nice Velcro backrest pad. I was able to create a taller backrest for my wife by using the supplied Velcro mount (meant for solo riding with the bag on the passenger pillion) and some 3/8” aluminum rod.
Here my small bag, manufacturer is T-bag. You can open the bag and get more space for goods.

I've had three one gallon jugs of tea on it. A gallon of water is ~8.2 lbs. So 24.6 lbs plus the weight of the larger lamonster garage luggage rack, plus a giant viking soft bag. It has held up fine so far.
Sooner or later the brackets you mount the luggage rack on will break. Three on mine so far.

That's one of the reasons i've decided to make a new rack solution out of 3mm stainless steel sheet and ditch the whole Triumph rack assembly. This new rack is extremely heavy duty but weighs a fair bit less than the stock assembly.
In my particular design the major concession has been to ditch the pillion seat an bring the load closer to my back which will improve air turbulence at speed and should be better in crosswinds.
I intend to make a pillion seat to fit on to the rack, so I will still be able to take a pillion, just not luggage at the same time. I'm ok with that, but I guess it's not everyone's ideal solution.
So, the rack is intended to be a mounting point for various 'modules'. Pillion seat pad is one module, the other is the existing Triumph aluminium rack piece which just improves the aesthetics of the relatively basic looking folded metal rack structure.
The most significant module that i'm currently working on is my aerodynamic hard-shell box (Top-Box) which I call 'Aero-Pod'. I designed and made it about 25 years ago for a luggage solution for the sportsbike I had at that time, but I realised that it would both look good and function great on the Rocket. I'm in the process of moulding a small adapter piece that will allow me to quickly snap-and -lock it on to my new rack.
Here are a few photos showing the development so far.......
