New tyres..advice?

For my R3T 2011. Do I go for Avon Venom or Cobra? Not happy with my Meztlers

Bridgestones - check 'em out. If they offer the DTC (dual tread compound) mix, as with the BattleAx id be most inclined. The concept was a hard center with a soft cornering difference.

I put Bridgestone Exendra Max tires on my R3T and they seem great so far. They are alot cheaper than Metz or Avon. They just come out with them last fall. There suppose to be designed for heavy touring bikes. I think I paid $139.00 for the rear at DennisKirk.com

Bridgestones????

Dennis Kirk only shows Metzlers as reccommended tires for the 08-09 Touring.I have an 08 which came with the Bridgestone Exedra G850 G/180/70R16 77H from the factory.On April 6,2009 the NHTSA recalled all 1018 units and they were replaced with Metzlers at no charge..to quote the letter.."The motorcycle to which these tires are applied develops very high torque and can cause torque-induced degradation in a body ply which may result in innerliner cracking thatmay lead to a slow leak in the rear tire.This condition does not affect the front tire."I would be very scepticle to run Bridgestones after this recall.Check it out and read for yourself..http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/cars/problems/recalls/results.cfm...The nhtsa campaign ID number is 09T004000

That was back in 2009, I understand that the Exedra Max is now suitable for the Rocket family. I hope so because I have just put one on !

I may have to apologize..lets hope so for your sake.The Bridgestone fitment guide for the exedra max does list our size requirements but not the Rocket family.To each His own,but I will stick with Metzlers for now.Let us know how your experience with the Bridgestone works for you.Here is the fitment guide for those exedra maxs'
