Hello Russ and welcome from Virginia. Those darn batteries, mine is good as long as I keep riding it. If work takes me away for a week, I put it on trickle charge to make sure it is ready for my return. I barely have 50K miles on mine and am on my fourth battery now. We have several mods to make to increase battery life and ease of use, such as a starter upgrade (which I haven't done yet) and swapping in bigger battery cables. Good luck with yours.
