R3T Nightmare!!
Howdy All:
Long time lurker, finally bought a mint 2008 R3T with several nice official Triumph accessories. Paid to have it shipped by STI and was looking forward to it arriving. It showed up yesterday and after unloading, the driver took off. That's when the fun started...
Sat there trying to get it into neutral, when the linkage rod snapped off where it attaches to the shifter. On closer inspection, the linkage rod had been rather severely bent...naturally I did not notice it before the shipper left. So now I'm stuck borrowing a pickup and trailer to haul it to the nearest dealer for repairs.
I understand it is an easy fix, but my biggest concern is this: do you think whatever it was that bent the rod may have damaged something internally? I noticed when I started it in gear with the clutch fully pulled in it lurched forward. Never had that happen with any bike I've ever owned.
Any advice or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
