Welcome to the madness from Joisey, Duncan. That is one sinister looking Rock you found. Learn how to use all that whupass wisely so she doesn't use you! Enjoy the ride!

Well Well Well,
Another Okie.
and a friend of Lons to boot.
Serious scoot, I like it.
I really like that rear end and exhaust.
If you decide you want rid of it, I'd like dibs, after Lon of course.
You a firefighter too?
Ya know, hanging with Lon will ruin your rep.;)
Take care and welcome to the site,
can't wait to TRY to catch you on the dragon.

OK I'll bite is the dark side a car tire ?
Yup, going to the dark side is taking that leap into the unknown.....
Not really, if a bike was ever made for flat rubber on the rear, this is it.
There is a "dark side" forum just for car tires here on R3Owners and I recomend boning up on the info. I had my doubts at 1st, but after burning through a couple of really expensive metzlers it started to make sense. The brits put them on right away (except touring models) and I haven't read a comment yet where someone complained.
If you are putting big numbers on the ground it's almost a necessity, I went FAT and pricey with a 245/50 ZR 16 Goodyear Eagle F-1 @ $175, but most go with 235/50, 225/55 and like the Raptors. I'm sure you looked at the contact area an scratched your head about the lack of grooves back there. Believe me, a little water and the metz is worthless.
Expect 6000-9000 miles from a Metzler and 20,000 plus from a car tire. You look at the info and make your own decision, I certainly don't want to sway you from any comfort zone.

Wow!

Beautiful bike. When I am in the states sometimes I visit up around Sherman and usually head over to Tishimingo and Ardmore to visit family. Maybe some Texas, Oklahoma captains can do a meet and greet somewhere up there or in between in the Summer? I would say ride but who could keep up with you?

Hellwalker,
about a 4 hour ride for me,
So just give us a heads up,
I'll sure try to make it.
Duncan,
yea, you definitely NEED a car tire.
My recommendation is the Riken Raptor
225X55 corrects the speedo error,
gives plenty of room between the shaft and the rubber,
WAY BETTER on wet surfaces.
Longevity, cost, safer.
Whats not to like?

I appreciate the contact patch aspect , just wondering how it does in the twisteeez....thanks guys Duncan.
