Hi guys, the names Trev and come from NZ but live in Oz now or have been for awhile.
I don't currently own an R3 but will soon once I convince the missus. I do ride a suzuki boulevard 1500 M90. Had it nearly 2 years now and put on 26,000kms on it with no problems at all from the bike. It has been modded a fair bit but like the new R3 so much i think its time to upgrade.
My question is if you guys can help is what problems does the bike have? How does it handle in the twisties as I tend to push the M90 pretty hard or so I'm told by the guys on the sports bike I pass lol.
Is there a TRE you can put on and does it eliminate the top speed limiter?
Can't think of any more question but any little thing you can think of just post it any way as it may help with my decision, Cheers in advance guys

Dude there was sooo much wrong with that post....

Asking the wife, Suzuki, etc.... We aren't buying curtains. ;)

Should we give him a chance to start again? LOL

Welcome from Delaware, don't ask just do it, sell that japan toy and just buy it. That is if you can find one, I understand they are far and few between with a high price tag down under. Good luck.

My biggest warning for factory defects is the rubber they send them out the door wearing, Metzler tires are junk and don't last 4000 miles on this bike. The ignition switch is weak and handles too much juice, a headlight relay bypass kit is an absolute necessity. Other than those two out-of-the-box problems, everything else is a random luck of the draw risk. My 2008 has needed a water pump and an ignition switch (and a car tire on the rear, Avon Cobra on the front) in 18,000 miles.

PS, I'm not really a jerk, I just play one on TV. (don't take me too serious)

Kia Ora Bro, welcome.

Do not hesitate in swapping to a Rocket, I recently traded my Harley Davidson in on mine and haven't looked back.

Cheers,
The Kiwi.

G'day and Welcome , ask Mitch or Binnsy be to meet you at Samford and you could follow them .. :D .. up to Mt Glorious cafe if you want to see how a Rocket handles the twisties !!!!!!!

Welcome from Canberra, mate. There's a heap of great guys up your way who no doubt will intruduce themselves soon enough. Do what HellFire says and just do it. How does it handle in the twisties?? Do some reading on this site and you'll find out - as well as answers to all your other questions.

welcome

Welcome from another qld Rocketeer

I wouldnt even hesitate mate just swap over to the rocket u will love her.
Yes they r a big bike but they have such a low centre of gravity and really are a very well balanced machine u will have no probs in the twisties.
I weigh in at meer 76KG and i never notice the bikes weight:cool:
Regards Mitch

Yeah cuz, just do it... you won't look back unless the awesome power scares you? ;)

The only limiting factor on these bikes is the operator, like me..

Welcome and enjoy when you get one.. and hurry up, I want to see photo's

Welcome from Oz (the real one). The Eastern Beaver H4 relay mod is a must. A TuneECU or Tuneboy to remove the factory restrictions and you are set.:)

Sounds like a plan. I'm on the north side and samford is about 20mins from where I live in Griffin but can make the cafe in 25mins if pushing it lol. I have taken my uncles R3 out for a spin and loved it. I noticed to with it sitting just a little higher than my bike, you could lean it in a bit harder without the pegs scraping as soon as mine usually does.Cheers for the welcome guys by the way

Sounds like you've already made up your mind then,
nothing left to do but pull the trigger.
To the only thing mentioned by you that hasn't been addressed so far
by the other guys welcoming you.
TRE, yep, you'll want one of those.
We've all went with the Gi-Pro w/ATRE.
price is reasonable and it's pretty much plug and play.
Again, like everyone else has said, WELCOME,
now go get your new bike....;)
