I think I may have found a solution to my intermittent neutral light problem. In the past couple of days it had become more problematic and finally quick working entirely. The bike would not start at all with the kick stand down. I pulled the switch and cleaned the contacts again. The gear indicator pin sets in a spring in a recessed area where the switch mounts. I have ordered a new pin and spring from Triumph but they are still on back order. I took the old spring down to True Value Hardware and matched it up with a little longer and higher tension version. I had to cut it down a little to refit but upon reassembly the light and all related functions are working perfectly. Could this have contributed to my GIpro not staying calibrated, we will see whenever I get a chance to reinstall the unit. BTW cost to repair, 69 cents for the spring.......

I wonder if this might be the cause of other problems as well like surging if you have your secondaries still working. It may think it's in the wrong gear and close the secondaries.

Another reason I like German and English vehicles ... you can take them apart and replace the little things inside the bigger assemblies rather than just having to buy a whole new sealed unit.
