NEC UK 2015 Motorcycle Show

As you like it so much, here's another picture.

Do NOT care for the that up in the sky rear end!
Like the beefed up swing arm, blower, color scheme and radiator shroud.

I went to the show on Sunday. The green R3 was on the Principle Insurance stand. Very impressive close up. The Union Flag R3 is owned by an ex Squaddie. He shows it to raise cash for veterans charities. I agree with what you said about the new Bonnies. They did seem small
Did you take any photos of the Lycra Ladies

I sat on the Thruxton Phil and to be honest it felt very thin and tiny. Build quality of switches and dials looked cheaper and was disappointed but that's only my opinion. I did look good and there was a white one as well.

Now, not to be overly personal, Blackthou, but is your "thin and tiny" critique predicated on your being a portly and gargantuan individual or strictly due to a cheaper or cheesier overall build quality as you indicated was your impression of the controls and gauges?:laugh:

You're sorta' kinda' bursting my bubble a bit, before I have the chance to get next to one of the coolest looking bikes ever made, IMO (I do value your opinion, ya' know!).

I did say it was my opinion. Firstly I'm 185lbs and 6'1" so not gargantuan. I think it's because I'm now used to my Roadster it felt so tiny and as I say, it did look good.
Since Triumph's rebirth about 25 years ago they've been striving hard and their quality of finish and engineering has been pretty much up with the rest but this year, again in my opinion, the quality looked as if the accountants had got involved and the switch gear didn't look much different to the Chinese manufacturers bike. Also the dials in the instruments weren't vertical. To me it was all very disappointing. I thought the new Street Bonneville was made to a price then retailed for max and not the balance it has been.
Triumph weren't the only ones. Victory was another example. I'm an engineer of over 40 years experience and drooled over Victorys as their engineering was 2nd to none and it oozed quality and the right way to do things but this year their bikes appeared to be "manufactured" now they have the reputation. It was a toss up for me between the Hammer S and R3R last year with obviously the Rocket clinching it. All the above though is as I said my opinion and each to their own and all that. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

Sadly there were very few about and definitely less each year.
