This is a query for @1olbull who always calls motorcycles 'motors' which in most other countries means cars.

How times change I wonder how many White service organisation still use 'Muslim' sounding and themed 'accountrements'.
Aha wow, still exists I think. They even called their temple a 'Mosque'.
History | El Jebel Shriners

In July 1894, Denver hosted the Imperial Shrine convention, attracting 1000 out of 31,000 Shiners in the Nation. For the first three years the Nobility met over the Fire Station, then for 17 years at the Masonic Lodge. At this first Denver Shrine meeting MORTIMER J. LAWRENCE suggested the name, EL JEBEL, which is Arabic for “The Mountain”

HAS ANYONE EVER SAID YOU 'MERICANS ARE WEIRD?

Says I with my own little collection of UK Oddfellows regalia with Aussie kangaroos and boomerang dingle dangles etc. I still have no idea why?;)

Arh the back shot seems to imply most of the USA is the same as the rest of the world and it may be just an 'Oregon thang' ;):D

But at US$300 bucks I think I may just stay a pedestrian for US$20 ;):D:roll::roll::roll:

Well now, Ish.
As you may know, my Dad was an Indian Motorcycle Dealer here in Tacoma Washington. From about Age 2 on, I was immersed in the motorcycle culture. I hung out at the shop, I attended numerous events such as flat track races, TT races, hill climbs and field events. Dad was a charter member of the Jolly Rogers MC, the oldest still active MC club in the country. Frequently there were a dozen motorcycles and riders hanging out at our house.
The original name was Indian Motocycle (no "r") and they where referred to as "motors" - not bikes. In the 50s the word "cycles" (pronounced sickles) came about and was also used.
Now you know the rest of the story...

Semantics. Call them what you grew up with. Football don't mean the same $hit in other countries either. We have closer to a 1/2 ton of hot steel between our legs no matter what you call em. I call mine Black Sabbath because its a religion outside the obvious Chritianity to me. God does not trailer :)

This gets even better. The Motor Patrol still exists and members get to drive old restored vintage vehicles in Parades and services.
