Had the worst thing happen this morning. On my way in to work I stopped at a light. There was a HD Sporty right behind me. The light turned green and as I eased out the clutch, the Rocket just died. IT JUST DIED! I pulled the clutch back in and hit the starter button and it turned over but did not fire. Hit it a second time. Same results! Third time, still no fire. fourth time, it didn't even turn over. Had to PUSH the bike out of the intersection, to the side of the road. turned the key off, then back on. Hit the starter and it fired right up. But the damage had already been done!
I guess I should have popped the clutch and nailed it, but I didn't want to "show off". It would have been SUPER embarassing if I had done that and it died.
Has anyone else had this happen?

My '08 did all kinds of wierd **** just before they replaced the ignition switch. From the horror stories I've been hearing here lately Triumph should have a recall on their key switches. Just a thought.

I know what you mean, mine has already been replaced under warranty and it appears that the question is not will it ever happen but when. I just hope the replacement ignition switch was "improved".

Mine failed completely.....at a motorcycle rally no less. Probably from my letting the front end back down to the ground a little too hard too many times. I and a friend cobbled it back together with a soldering iron. It lasted long enough to get me home and then to Baxters.

Scot-in-exile has a lot of miles on his and it finally let loose at the Fall Rocket Launch last month. So I think it's back to "when" not "if".

Mine let go at about 8k miles if I remember right.
