Mittzy just a question for you.

I'm not complaning about my PC5 I'm very happy with the way my bike runs since Mark at Serco dyno'd it. 136.97 horse power and 154.61 ft-lbs with standard airfilter, standard headers and a single muffler. I just don't understand this ECU stuff. When it ran like crap from new, surging and hunting at low revs in 1st and 2nd gear corners and backfiring through the intake when you give it a rev on the down shift to the extent of stalling. I took it back to Springwood they said the standard ECU could only have one of three different tunes loaded into it standard, tors, or European. They loaded the Tors tune in it and it made it worse to ride. There final word was they all run like that if you want to get it better you need a PC5 and a dyno so thats what I did. Now today 2years later the same shop tells me the standard ECU is much better than a PC5 and I wasted $400.00 I'm thinkin there all talking through there arse.

On a happier note Iv'e been thinking about getting triple filters, would be interesting to get it dyno'd by Fred to get a comparison with standard headers and single muffler and Mittzy's Reband pipes.

Should tell you something Bruce.. unless you know them better mate..

Was in Team Moto Triumph Springwood today I mentioned I had a Power Comander 5 in my R3R. The bloke at the service counter ( I didn't get his name ) asked why. I said so when I got it dyno'd they could tune it and get it running right. Plus there service department a bloke named Ben told me to get a PC5 and get it dyno'd when I put the 3 into 1 pipe on when the bike was new. As they were hopeless and couldn't get it to run very well at all. Well good old ( I didn't get his name ) said I wasted my money as the standard Triumph ECU is infinatly more programable than a Power Commander 5. If I go to Fred at Procycle he will unhook the PC5 and tune my bike to perfection as he did with ( I didn't get his name's) speed triple. I said I was talking Rocket not Speed triple, he said didn't matter.
All that being said I didn't think there was anything wrong with the way my bike was running anyway.

Just a question for Mittzy when Fred at Procycle dyno'd your bike last week did he mention any of this or disable your PC5?

Seems every time I go near Moss st I come away feeling like Iv'e just been fed a fair bit of bull****.

so was I mate, pity we didn't meet up.
Incidently the guy in Warwick that built the motor for my drag car is predominately a motorcycle mechanic etc. He also has the same opinion about Power Commanders. When i was in talking to him a fortnight ago he a local chap in there with a 6 month old Thunderbird. bloke had put all the aftermarket stuff on it and said it was running rough, Shane removed a few things and Dyno'ed the bike and it spat out an extra 7hp.
Dont know enough about about it to form an opinion but some of it makes sense.

Yeah that's because the triumph dealerships only have three canned tunes on their computers that they can offer you supplied by triumph they rarely steer you outside of Eom applications for the bike they will only offer products available by them. Dealerships are useless for any mods in general if it don't have a factory sticker on the product they pretty much stick their heads in the sand and start jerking them selves off

Bruce the only reason most people go with power commander is because most dyno places only use dynojet technology there aren't many around these days that can tune without it. I also went down the powercomander path as I used powerhouse dynotuning and freds shop wasn't around that I knew of back then. As for power commander being useless well that is absolutely incorrect its just not needed if u can find someone who can still tune without it "few and far between" The only thing I would say is im fairly sure the bigger hp bikes need power commander "im not talking 240hp bikes but the ones closer to 300+ with bigger injectors as the standard ecu isn't capable but I could be wrong . so either way nothing wrong with power commander just not needed if u have someone like fred tuning your bike.

Hit the nail on the head, there is no one in this region South of Sydney that can dyno without a PCV , I was tring to get on to the Tuneboy people before I bought the PCV as I wanted to buy a tuneBoy provided I could get them to tune it .... They did not want to return calls and when I spoke to Emma she said that Wayne would call me back .... Never Did obliviously did not want my business

just to throw in my ten cents worth....I am really happy with the way my bike runs.
Mitch fitted the triple K&N's etc. and tuned it. It backfires a lot on deceleration and is a bit lumpy in 1st and 2nd at low revs (in town stuff) but once out on the open road it just cuts loose!
I have lots of mates here in Ulysses and two daughters, a granddaughter and son-in-law with bikes. Needless to say all are in awe of the power of the Rocket.
I live on the Cunningham Highway 35k's out of Warwick, those that know the road would be aware of the stretch from Maryvale to the Eight Mile Toowoomba turnoff. I have on several occasions sat on 200k's in places and on one occasion had one of my daughters pillion.
Granted it got a bit unstable as I had the bags on as well but loads of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!
I might be 61 but I have my moments out on the road just like everyone else.
