My left hand mirror keeps slowly creeping back toward me. The recessed allen-head at bottom of the stalk going into the base is tight and I don't want to force or strip anything.

How do I tighten things up so as to not need re-adjust the mirror stalk every 20 miles?

Go to your dealer and see if you can get the little collars ordered in for you and replace them - or one.... Or contact Andy at NCY to order for you.

Called a tolerance ring

The best way to remove the mirrors is to drive them out from the bottom. Remove the screw and wave washer. Find a flat ended drift or punch that just fits the hole and use a hammer to tap it lightly.

Hi FR56,

I had the same problem and placed a star washer between the head of the bolt and the under side of the mounting area.

This is so weird!!!!! I have been fighting my left mirror for weeks, constantly having to readjust it. I also tried tightening it and it didn't work. Thanks for the schematic.

Best answer is to $hitcan the stock mirrors and get aftermarket replacements

You may have a tolerance ring loose/broken. I just had the same problem and a dealer (Freedom Cycle, Las Vegas) fixed it under warranty no problem.

Yep! "Tolerance ring" was the culprit.
Many thanks to the mechanical mavens here who responded. The the dealership had em' in stock and replaced it under warranty.
